This video is hysterical – it’s by Kaleb Nation (aka Twilight guy) – and extremely creative, talented author, musician, blogger and more. He is a digital native.
I shared this because it is VERY entertaining, plus this is a learning opportunity. Here’s why:
He has more that 7500 followers on Twitter
His YouTube channel has just under 30,000 subscribers
He just published his first book, and made his own trailer (with music he created)
He has 2 blogs, one for Twilight Guy and one for himself (and his book)
He constantly connects all of these things. He creates additional excitement and activity via twitter, with contests, and with blog.tv.
Even if you are not geeky like me and into the content, pay attention to how he has managed to create an extremely powerful brand, reputation and following.

It amazes me to see these examples, but it shouldn’t. The key ingredient is passion. NPR detailed a video podcast where some teens review products. And Obama sat down for an interview with a 12 year old for his YouTube show.
Passion is key. The tools are easy. If you have passion, the content will show and BOOM. Digital natives make it a ton harder for their peers to fill out a college application. And they do teach us a few things in the process.
One of the primary differences I see between Digital natives and digital immigrants is consumption habits. Immigrants grew up consuming media a different way. We aren’t used to having screens of multiple sizes provide us with the same info across phone, tv and computer.
We both have access to the same tools and are using them, but again from a content production standpoint, natives are growing up with it. It will be interesting to see the impact this has in the future.
You are right – it is passion… There is SO much to learn from them (I have 2 living in my house). These are truly exciting times. Thanks!
